Woodruff, SC

Mary Ruth Gist, daughter of the late Curtis M. and Sarah R. Holley, passed Saturday, August 29, 2020 peacefully at her home surrounded by her family.

She was a Faithful member of Community Grove Baptist Church; where she sang on the Community Grove Ensemble for over 29 years.  During her spare time she enjoyed singing, dancing, shopping and spending time with her family.

Left to cherish fond and loving memories of Mary are her children; Micheal Holley  of Greer, SC, Tasha H. (Micheal) Booker of Duncan, SC, Reafel (Clarise) Gist and Hykeem Gist both of Woodruff, SC; siblings, Minister Minnie Bell Benson, Brenda (Chris) Griffith and Billy H. Holley all of Greer, SC, Roy  (Mary) Holley of Fairmont, SC, Jimmy (Angela) Holley of Reidville, SC and Robert (Janice) Holley of Woodruff, SC; 12 grandchildren; three great grandchildren; special god daughter and Monique (Todd) Coleman of Greer, SC; special god sister Ann (Ernest) Johnson of Wellford, SC; along with a host of other family and friends.

She was preceded in death by a brother Curtis Carl Holley.

Window viewing will take place on Tuesday, September 1, 2020 from 3:00PM until 7:00PM in Sullivan Bros. Mortuary Viewing Window.  Graveside service will take place on Wednesday, September 2, 2020 2:00PM at Community Grove Baptist Church.
