Mr. Columbus M. Meredith Sr., youngest son born to the late Elbert and Ozzie Lee J. Meredith, Sr., passed Friday, September 29, 2023.

He had five deceased brothers: willie Meredith, James Meredith, Myles Meredith, Luther L. Meredith and Willie Jones and four deceased sisters, Rena Irby, Christine Chalmers, Sarah Pyles and Elizabeth Stubberfield.

In his younger days, when hunting was popular, he was an avid hunter.

He is survived by one son, Columbus M. Meredith, Jr.; one daughter, Shaneka Christine; three grandchildren; one brother, Elbert Meredith, Jr., five sisters, Audrey Scott, Lillian Oree Vernon, Emma Jones, Beatrice Pyles and Jearline Jones; along with a host of other family and friends.

Funeral service will be Thursday, October 5, 2023, 1:00 PM at New Liberty Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
