Mr. Willie James Sterling was born on December 30, 1960, to the late Benjamin and Edith Sterling, Sr., and fell asleep in death on Friday, June 17, 2022.

He graduated from James F. Byrnes High school with honors in 1979. Over the years, he worked at JP Stevens, Spartan Trucking, Springs, and other places.

Surviving family members include his brother Benjamin Sterling, his brothers-in-law Michael Everett and Elijah Dixon, and his sisters Martha Dixon, Mary Everett, Nina Sterling, and Cathy Sterling. Willie was preceded in death by his beloved baby sister Susie Sterling. He also cherished nephews, nieces, cousins, and other family members.

Willie loved reading, studying the Bible, and attending Christian meetings of Jehovah's Witnesses. When he was younger, he enjoyed bowling, going to drag races, spending time with close friends, and Gamecock football. Wherever he went he was loved.
