Mr. Willie Wingo Sr., son of the late James Brown and Ethel Minnie Wingo passed Friday, February 2, 2018 at his home peacefully surrounded by his family. He was a member of New Faith Baptist Church where he served on the Usher Board. Retired employee with Roebuck Building with over 25 years of service. During his spare time he loved to fish, watching Jeff Gordon on the NASCAR Circuit and watching his five time superbowl champion Dallas Cowboys Win! Left to cherish his fond and loving memory are his children Willie R. Wingo, Jr of Greenville, SC, Cynthia (Craig) Cooper of the home and Tony L. Smith of Mauldin, SC; his siblings Laymon (Mary) Wingo, Sr., of Wellford, SC, Shirley Brown of Spartanburg, SC, Sylvia (Leon) McHam of Spartanburg, SC and Yvonne J. Dogan of Spartanburg, SC; his eight grandchildren Sheneka Smith, Damaris Hill, Ramon Wingo, Hakeem Sexton, Kwane Wingo, Nasir Wingo, Elijah Holcombe and Xavion Jones, his three great grandchildren Amariana Hill, Alayah Hill and Marianne Thomasson; his five god daughters Sharon Jones, Jennifer Jones, Martha Jones, Cheryl Shelton and Kim Holcombe; along with other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his sister Loreen Watson, Bernice Bell, Ann Lou Wingo, Mary Dendy; his brothers Ernest Wingo and Roy Lee Wingo. Funeral service will be Saturday, February 10, 2018 3:00PM at New Faith Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery. The Wingo Family is being cared for by Sullivan Bros. Mortuary Inc.
