Mr. Willie Alfonso Rogers entered into rest on Saturday, May 15, 2021 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born on April 25, 1942 in Spartanburg , South Carolina to the late Eliphus Rogers and the late Laura Burgan Rogers. He was the husband of Linda Thompson Rogers for 43 years.
Mr. Willie was a member of Upper Shady Grove Baptist Church of Wellford, South Carolina. Willie was a Veteran of the United States Army. He retired from Mead Corporation after working 42 years. His lifelong hobbies was fishing, gardening especially okra and lawn care.
Willie leaves to cherish his loving memories, his wife; a son, Jason W. Rogers of Inman, SC; two daughters, Jeree Rogers of Charlotte, NC and Niketha (Lazarus) Wilson of Spartanburg, SC; seven grandchildren, five great grandchildren; two sisters, Vennice Rogers and Gardenia Goodwin both of Wellford, SC; three brothers, Jonathan Rogers of Duncan, SC, Thomas (Karen) Rogers of Moore, SC and Marshall Rogers of Wellford, SC; a mother-in-law, Viola Thompson of Inman, SC; two sister-in-laws, Brenda Jackson and Diane Thompson both of Inman, SC; a brother-in-law, Styles Thompson, Jr. of Boiling Springs, SC and a host of other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father; a sister, Shirley Roger; daughter, Tijuana Nesbitt; and son, Jerry Nesbitt.
