Spartanburg, SC

Mr. William J. Foster, Sr., 88, widow of Mary Lou Glenn Foster, was summoned by God's Heavenly Angels on Sunday, March 24, 2019 after a long illness. He was born to the late Fred Foster, Sr and the late Vera Wheeler Foster. Mr. Foster retired from Lyman Finish and Printing Inc.

He was a member of New Hope Baptist Church where he served as a Trustee, sung on the Male Chorus and a faithful Sunday School member.  He was a Veteran of the Korean War. His hobbies were fishing, hunting, and working in the yard.

Mr. Foster leaves to cherish his precious memories: two daughters, Barbara (Randy) Turner of Wellford, SC and Doris Austin of Greer, SC; a son, William Foster, Jr. of Wellford, SC; a sister, Lillie A. (Rev. Wendell) Thompson both of Greer, SC; four grandchildren, eight great grandchildren; two sister-in-laws, Mattie Foster of Spartanburg, SC and Thalia Foster of Lyman, SC and a host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation service will be Wednesday, March 27, 2019,  3:00PM until 5:00pm at Sullivan Bros. Mortuary Chapel in Greer, SC. Burial will take place on Tuesday, April 2, 2019 at 10:00am at M. J. "Dolly" Cooper Veteran Cemetery in Anderson, SC.
