Obituary

Spartanburg, South Carolina

Mr. Wilbur David Clark, son of the late Lula Mae (Jesse B.) Clark and Joe Moates, passed Saturday, August 31, 2024 peacefully at his home; surrounded by his loving family.

He was raised in love by his parents Lula Mae and Jesse B. Clark.  As a young adult, he attended Spartanburg Co. Schools.  Later in life, Wilbur married Shirley J. Clark and from this marriage, two children were born.  Although not together, they remained friends for life.  Wilbur worked for Bi-Lo warehouse until he retired.  After retirement, he still continued to work, this time for himself as a mechanic.

Left to cherish fond and loving memories of Wilbur, along with his wife Shirley, include his daughters; Tonya Clark of Spartanburg, SC, Latonya Gaffney of Inman, SC and Tania (Mike) Cohen-Higgins of Lyman, SC; sons, Scottie (Tawana) Clark, Willie Switzer, Chris Switzer and David (Chaka) Cohen all of Greer, SC, Shawn Clark of Woodruff, SC and Timothy (Brandy) Cohen of Inman, SC; hi siblings, Margaret Sullivan of Atlanta, GA, Wallace Clark of Spartanburg, SC, Kenneth Clark and Sherrie (Tommy) Booker both of Woodruff, SC, Angela (Jimmy) Holley of Reidville, SC, Beverly (Douglas) Holmes of Atlanta, GA, Allen (Mattie) Clark of Gray Court, SC, Scottie Clark of Columbia, SC, Luvella Clark of New York and Kelvin (Myra) Clark; 20 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; along with a host of other family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Vanessa Ann Rector and brother Darvin Clark.

Funeral service will be Saturday, September 7, 2024, 2:00 PM at Sullivan Bros. Mortuary Chapel with burial to follow in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.  Public viewing will take place on Friday, September 6, 2024, from 2:00PM until 6:00PM at the mortuary.
