Travelers Rest, SC

Mr. Toy Zimmerman was born to the late Betsy Lou Freeman and Paul Zimmerman on December 7, 1940 in Spartanburg County.  He departed this life on Wednesday, March 8, 2023 at the McCall Hospice House, Simpsonville, SC. He was the husband of Martha Lillie Bell Workman Zimmerman for fifty-three years.

A member of Golden Grove Baptist Church in Travelers Rest, SC. He retired as a textile worker from Dunean Plant. His past time favorites were singing Do-Re-Mi songs of the past and spending time with family.

He was preceded in death by his sister Janice Zimmerman and his brother James Zimmerman.

Having departed this life, he leaves to cherish his precious memories his wife, Martha Zimmerman of the home; a son, Curtis (Ester) Workman of Taylors, SC; two grandsons, Kurtis (Risa) Workman and Chris (Chasity) Workman both of Travelers Rest, SC; a niece who reared in the house, Martha Jones of Simpsonville, SC; three sisters, Minnie Bell White of New Jersey, Joyce Zimmerman and Nancy Zimmerman both of Charlotte, NC; three brothers, Paul Zimmerman, Allen Zimmerman and Jonah Zimmerman all of Charlotte, NC;  eight grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.
