Lyman, South Carolina

Mrs. Terri Anita York, wife of Alvin York, daughter of Columbus Thoms and the late Nettie Mae Thoms, passed Sunday, November 13, 2022.

She was an active member of Mt. Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church.  As a member of the church, she served as a choir member, youth director, kitchen helper and YWA member.  She graduated from Spartanburg High School class of 1980.  After high school graduation, she attended and graduated from Spartanburg Technical College.  She was a dedicated medical lab technician at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center- Pelham Hospital for over 33 years.  In her spare time, she enjoyed church activities, shopping, watching movies and anything family related.

Surviving along with her husband Alvin of over 18 years and her Father, Columbus, include her daughter, Morgan York (Vonte Middleton) of Lyman, SC; granddaughter, Kylie Middleton; siblings, Rhonda Nelson of Chattanooga, TN, Deborah Thoms of Greenville, SC and Dr. Tracey (Mario) Miller of Duncan, SC; nephews, Jon (Brandy) Michael Nelson, Travis Nelson, Nicholas Miller; nieces, Courtney Talley, Erika Currie and Jordan Miller; her fur-son Peanut; along with a host of other family and friends.

Funeral service will be held on Sunday, November 20, 2022, 2:00 PM at Mt. Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery.  Viewing will take place prior to the service from 1:00 PM until the hour of service.
