Stephen Christopher Rice, husband of Krishana Thomas Rice and son of Frankie Dean Rice and Jerry Earl (Dot) Rice, Sr., passed August 10, 2018.

He was a member of Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church and a 2000 graduate of James F. Byrnes High School. After graduation, he attended University of South Carolina Salkehatchie, where he received his Associate Degree. He furthered his education at University of South Carolina Upstate and Spartanburg Community College where he earned a certificate in Horticulture. He was the owner of Money Team LLC, Carolina Cutterz. He loved his San Francisco 49ers, Los Angeles Lakers, Boston Red Sox, University of North Carolina Tarheels (college basketball), and University of South Carolina Gamecocks (college football). If it was one thing everyone knew about Chris, it was his loving smile and he never met a stranger. He truly loved and lived his life!! A special part of his life was his Cincinnati family!

Surviving along with his wife and parents are his children,Kennedy Chrislyn Rice and Kellen Benjamin Rice both of Boiling Springs, SC (and their mother Nicole Roebuck) and Alicia Rice of Spartanburg, SC (and her mother Jennifer Moss); paternal grandparents Lillie Rice, Rejetta Ballenger and Howard Ballenger all of Wellford, SC; brothers Johnathan (Amber) Rice of Longmont, CO and Jerry Rice, Jr. of Philadelphia, PA; sister Nia Hardy-Smith of Spartanburg, SC; his dog children Pretty Boy and Michelle Obama; honorary children he considered like his own Shailyn Briana Farr, Shacarra Moss, Alexis "Mookie" Moss, Khamora Woodruff, Aubrey Moss, Tyrique Glenn and Camaya Lewis, along with a host of other family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Alice Shelton Dean and Butler McDowell.

Funeral service will be Thursday, August 16, 2018 at 1:00 PM at Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church, with burial at Westwood Memorial Gardens.
