Ruby Sullivan
Wilson
November 27, 1938 – January 21, 2026
Ruby Sullivan Wilson was born in Greer, South Carolina, the daughter of Eugene and Annie Mae Sullivan. She was the beloved sister of Lucy Amrullah of Atlanta, Georgia; Glenda (Cliff) Rice of Greer, South Carolina; and the late Anne Gaffney of Greer, South Carolina and Loretta (Phil) Thompson of Richmond, Virginia.
Ruby cared deeply about her family and friends and loved them fiercely, especially her nieces and nephews, who held a very special place in her heart. She was an educator at heart, serving as both a teacher and a principal, and was a fierce advocate for educational justice. She dedicated much of her life to this work as a proud member of the California Teachers Association
In addition, Ruby was a devoted member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated, living out the values of sisterhood, service, and social action throughout her life and community. Her unwavering commitment to fairness, opportunity, and uplifting others shaped countless lives and will continue to inspire us all.
As we grieve, we are comforted by the legacy of love, service, and justice she leaves behind. Her spirit lives on through the lives she touched, the students she advocated for, the sisters she served alongside, and the family she loved so deeply. Thank you for continuing to hold our family in your thoughts and prayers as we honor and celebrate her beautiful life.
