Wellford, SC

Ms. Nellie D. Duckett daughter of Prosperous Edward and Ivory Lee Thompson Drummond Sr., transitioned from earth to heaven on June 26, 2018 surrounded by her family.

She was a member of Upper Shady Grove Baptist Church. As a member of the church she served many roles including member of the Trustee Board, Hospitality Committee, Finance Secretary, Pastor's Aide, Gift and Kind Ministry and assistant church clerk. She had a yearly program called "Hanging the Greens". She was a voting pole manager for years. She enjoyed cooking, knitting, crocheting, shopping and of course being the boss. Who could forget her Michael Jackson white glove performance. But most of all her favorite thing to do was take care of her son Justin! Former employee with Spartanburg Herald Journal Newspaper and South Carolina Department of Motor Vehicles. She was a 1976 graduate of James F. Byrnes High School and after high school she attended Spartanburg Technical College.

Left to cherish her memories are her son Justin Duckett of Dayton, OH; her siblings Prosperous (Robin) Drummond, Brenda (Bernard) Cheeks, Mary Clemons all of Wellford, SC, Linda (Walter) Cheeks of Spartanburg, SC,
Kennedy (Kersidra) Drummond of Gaffney, SC, and June (Mary Alice) Wingo reared in the home; along with a host of nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother Tracy Drummond.

Funeral service will be Sunday, July 1, 2018 3:00PM at Upper Shady Grove Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery.
