Mr. Nathan Cohen, Sr., husband of Catherine Cohen, son of the late Dewitt, Sr. and Mattie Lee Cohen, passed Wednesday, December 30, 2020.
He was a member of New Fellowship Baptist Church. Graduate of Florence Chapel High School class of 1967. He retired from John Deere-Homelite. In his spare time, he enjoyed telling you how good his Pittsburgh Steelers Football team was and how bad all the other 31 teams were; he also, enjoyed hunting, fishing, listening to gospel music, eating his wife's fried chicken and spending time with his family and especially his grandchildren. He was a member of Prince Hall Masonic Lodge Stewart Lee #367.
Left to cherish fond and loving memories of Nathan, along with his wife Catherine of over 52 years, are his children Cartina L. Cohen of Spartanburg, SC, Nathan Cohen, Jr., of Lyman, SC and Sherry R. Cohen of Lyman, SC; his grandchildren, Aaron Alexus Cohen-Carson of Simpsonville, SC, Nathan Cohen III of Greenville, SC, Jasmine D. Cohen of Charlotte, NC and Jordan Tyrese Washington of Lyman, SC; speical cousin Debra Cohen of Spartanburg, SC; great granddaughter Carter G. Cohen of Greenville, SC; two sister in laws Slaydell Cohen of Greensboro, NC and Mary A. Thompson of Wellford, SC; a brother in law, Andrew "Butch" Miller of Spartanburg, SC; along with a host of other family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his brother Dewitt Cohen, Jr., and nephew Stacy Cohen.
The family will have a service on Sunday, January 3, 2021 12:00 Noon at Sullivan Bros. Mortuary Chapel with burial to follow in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. Viewing will take place on Saturday, January 2, 2021 from 3:00PM until 7:00PM in the viewing window at Sullivan Bros. Mortuary Inc. Due to CDC/WHO and state and local level organizations, we have a seating capacity we must abide by. Family will be seated first and limited seating if available after that. If you have access to Zoom, we will place the information for the service here under this listing for you to view the service live while it is taking place. If you are able to attend the service, a face covering is required during the entire time while inside the mortuary. If you feel that you have been exposed or been around someone that may have been exposed to Covid-19; or feel under the weather, please feel free to email us a condolence at sullivanbrosmortuary@gmail.com so we can provide to the family.
