Mrs. Monronicka N. "Shell" Smith, wife of Timothy Smith, daughter of Louise Scott and Lonnie Barton, passed Thursday, August 26, 2021.
She was a member of New Hope Baptist Church in Greer, South Carolina under the leadership of Bishop Allen Bruton. She was a graduate of James F. Byrnes High School class of 1987. After high school she began to work at BMW. She was known for her "Unity Through Humility Ministry". In her spare time, she loved reading, watching TV and movies, writing, ministering and spending time with her family and friends.
Left to cherish fond and loving memories of Monronicka; along with her husband Tim of over 14 years, her mother Louise Scott of Wellford, SC and father Lonnie Barton of Greenville, SC; are two daughter Bresha Scott of Spartanburg, SC and Timiya Smith of Duncan, SC; son, Jamarcus Durham of Jacksonville, FL; brothers, J. Eddie (Regina) Bryson, Eddie Cheeks and J. Tyrone Tolbert all of Greenville, SC, Thomas Griffin of Asheville, SC, Robert Rice of Spartanburg, SC and Dewayne Scott of Wellford, SC; mother-in-law, Dorothy Wood of Jonesville, SC; sister-in-laws Renada Smith of Atlanta, GA, Desiree Joyner of Virginia, WV and Ashley Smith of Dallas, TX; brother-in-laws, Lamont Smith of Atlanta, GA and Ricardo Allen of Dallas, TX; her god daughter, Camryn Thompson, god sons, Chyler Scott and Shamone Young, god sisters Tennico Porter and Tasha Collins and god brother Aubrey Scott; along with a host of other family and friends.
Funeral service will be Thursday, September 2, 2021 1:00PM at Wellford Baptist Church with burial to follow in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. SEATING IS LIMITED!!! MASK ARE REQUIRED TO BE WORN FOR ENTRY AND MUST BE WORN DURING THE ENTIRE TIME WHILE INSIDE THE CHURCH. BECAUSE WE ARE LIMITED IN THE NUMBER OF ATTENDANTS, WE WILL LIVE STREAM THE SERVICE ON ZOOM FOR ALL THOSE WHO ARE UNABLE TO ATTEND IN PERSON OR UNABLE TO GET A SEAT INSIDE THE CHURCH!! PLEASE HELP US IN KEEPING EVERYONE SAFE AND FOLLOWING GUIDELINES SET IN PLACE FOR THE SERVICE WE ARE RENDERING ON BEHALF OF THE SMITH FAMILY. Prior to the service beginning at 12:00 Noon the family will be in the church for those who are able to come by and speak and unable to stay for the service.
