Mary Gibbs Snyder
February 24, 1951 – November 10, 2025

Mary Gibbs Snyder, formerly of Greer, South Carolina, was born on February 24, 1951, to Ms. Thelma Ollie Bell Gibbs. On November 10, 2025, Mary peacefully transitioned from this life, leaving behind a legacy of love, compassion, and dedication to her family and community.

A proud graduate of Lincoln High School, Class of 1968, Mary continued her education at the historic Tuskegee Institute, where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 1973. The following years, she completed her Master of Science in Nursing at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Mary devoted her career to the nursing profession, where her gentle spirit and unwavering care touched the lives of countless patients and colleagues.

Mary cherished her family above all else. She leaves to celebrate her life and treasure her memory:

Her beloved grandchildren: Xavier Fields and Sydney Gay (Tuscaloosa, AL)
Her dear sisters: Annie Gibbs Hunter and Malinda Alexander (Greer, SC)
Her caring sisters-in-law: Joyce Gibbs (Munster, IN) and Katie "Marie" Gibbs (Central, SC)
Mary was preceded in death by her mother, Thelma Ollie Bell Gibbs; stepfather, William Smith; and brothers George F. Gibbs, Willie E. Gibbs, Raymond D. Gibbs, and Steve Gibbs.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 15, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at Piney Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Tuscaloosa, Alabama (35404). Services are entrusted to Will's Funeral Service, Inc. , 701 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd, Northport, Alabama (35476).
