Greer, South Carolina

Mrs. Mary Alice Cohen, daughter of the late Cecil and Lillie Bell G. Burnett, passed Monday, August 14, 2023.

She was a faithful member of New Hope Baptist Church.  There she served as a faithful member of the Usher Board.

Left to cherish fond and loving memories include her children, Dempsey (Joyce) Cohen of Greer, SC and Vanessa (Edward) C. Pitts of Greenville, SC; siblings, Joann Anderson of Wellford, SC, Clara (AJ) Johnson of Woodruff, SC, Leroy Burnett of Greer, SC and Robert (Diane) Burnett of Carrollton, VA; 13 grandchildren, 36 great grandchildren, 12 great-great grandchildren along with a host of other family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her siblings, L. B. Burnett, Bobbie Jean Bruster, Jessie Drummond, Velma B. Young, Willie Earl Burnett and Betty Jean Freeman.

Public viewing will be Friday, August 18, 2023, from 2:00 PM until 6:00 PM at Sullivan Bros. Mortuary with a graveside service Saturday, August 19, 2023, 12:00 Noon at New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery.
