Mrs. Martha L. Williams Wallace, widow of John Henry Wallace, daughter of the late Wince and Katherine M. Williams, Sr., passed Friday, August 1,2025, peacefully surrounded by her loving family.
Martha was the valedictorian of the Lincoln High School Class of 1966. She began her career with the Greer Police Department on September 26, 1975, and faithfully service the City of Greer as a dispatcher for 30 years.
A devoted woman of faith, Martha was lifelong member of Maple Creek Missionary Baptist Church. She served in many capacities, including member of the Pastor's Aide Ministry, Deaconess, Senior Missionary and Youth Sunday School Teacher. Her dedication and love for her church and community were unwavering.
In her spare time, she enjoyed, sewing, photographer and assembling photo albums, recording special moments in her family history. She was known as the historian of the family.
Martha is survived by her grandchildren, Chardese Jones, Rashadric "KJ" Jones and Julius Jones; four great grandchildren, Jayce Jones, Khayden Jones, Ephraim Jones and Crue Jones; brother, Wince (Betty) Williams, Jr.; her like a son, David Parks; a special stepdaughter, Brenda Stewart; three special daughter-like nieces, Catherine Coleman, Marsha Richardson and Martha Williams; a special nephew, Larry Brown; her dog son Jax; along with a host of other nieces, nephews, family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her son, Charles E. Jones, sisters, Queen. E. WIlliams and Betty W. Lindsey; grandmother, Elizabeth Cox Chatman; great grandparents, Rev. Clinton and Stella A. Cox.
Funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 9, 2025, 1:00 PM at Maple Creek Missionary Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery. Public viewing will take place on Friday, August 8, 2025, 3:00 PM until 6:00 PM at Sullivan Bros. Mortuary.
