Mrs. Margaret V. Durham Hill, widow of Deacon James Hill, daughter of the late Joseph Carver and Denver Allie B. Durham passed Sunday, December 28, 2025, peacefully at her home, surrounded by her loving family.
Mrs. Hill was a faithful member of Maple Creek Missionary Baptist Church. There she served in many roles. She served as Deaconess alongside her husband Deacon James Hill for many years. She was known for her strength in education. Guiding the growth of many young adults in the Greenville County School District for many years. Those who knew her, knew her for her kind heart and her love for poems and poetry. She also loved shopping, decorating and she had the passion for teaching.
Left to cherish fond and loving memories are her daughter, Kimberly (Zachary) Hill-Arnold of Greer, SC; her son, James A. (Ericka) Hill, Jr. of Woodhaven, MI; her grandchildren, Tommi N. Hill, Cy'mone J. Arnold, Zarek H. Arnold, James A. Hill, III, Jamara A. Hill and Jurney A. Hill; her great grand Zoiie D. Arnold; along with a host of other family and friends.
Along with her husband James Hill of over 59 years and her parents Joseph and Denver Durham; she was the last survivor of her family. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Wycliff D. Durham, Josephy O. Durham, Deacon Edwin D. Durham, J. B. Durham, Rev. Carroll A. Durham, Paul A. Durham, Charles D. Durham, Warren T. Durham, Massalena D. Bradford, Eunice D. Canty, Tommie R. Durham, Grace D. Love and Doris D. Taylors.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 3, 2026, 1:00 PM at Maple Creek Missionary Baptist Church with burial to follow in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. Public viewing will take place on Friday, January 2, 2026, from 3:00 PM until 6:00 PM at Sullivan Bros. Mortuary.
