Wellford, South Carolina

Mr. Larry Leroy "Kojack" Rice, son of Lillie Ruth Rice and the late Charles Howard, passed Sunday, September 24, 2023.

He was a member of New Trinity Baptist Church.  A 1976 graduate of James F. Byrnes High School.  After high school he attended and graduated from Greensboro State University.  He retired from Upstate Linen, as a supervisor, after many years of service.  During his spare time, he enjoyed watching his San Antiono Spurs and Dallas Cowboys win.  If he wasn't cheering his favorite sports teams on, he was in the community singing and dancing or socializing at a cookout.

Left to cherish fond and loving memories of Kojack, include his mother, Lillie Ruth Rice; his sisters, Shirley McClintock of Roebuck, SC, Ivy Gail (Ray) Dillard of Wellford, SC, Renee Howard of Kansas City, Mo, Debra Ann Gray of Wellford, SC, Shelia (Frank) Mosley, Lisa Howard and Shawnna Howard all of Kansas City, MO; brothers, Ricky Darnell Rice of Salisbury, NC, Charles Howard, Jr., and Johnny D. Howard, Sr. both of Kansas City, MO and Kenneth W. Rice of Wellford, SC; aunts, Sarah (Joe) Pollenitz of Cincinati, OH, Barbara Rice of Spartanburg, SC and Mattie McClintock of Lyman, SC; uncles, Rev. Edward Howard and John W. Howard both of Kansas City, MO; along with a host of other family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Jerry Rice; grandparents James T. and Annie Belle Rice and Johnny and Malinda Howard; nephew, Stephen C. Rice and uncle William N. Rice.

Funeral service will be Saturday, September 30, 2023, 1:00 PM at New Trinity Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery.  Public viewing will be Friday, September 29, 2023, 2:00 PM until 5:00 PM at Sullivan Bros. Mortuary Inc.
