Mr. Junius H. N. Honore', Jr., husband of Debra S. Honore', son of the late Junius and Mozelle Honore', Sr., passed, Tuesday, July 11, 2023.
He enlisted in the Navy at the age of 17 and was Honorably Discharged September 13, 1968. He reenlisted during the Vietnam War on September 12, 1969. He received many medals for his bravery and was promoted to Lance Corporal. He was honorable discharged from the Marine Corps on September 10, 1971. He graduated from the college of Drafting in Washington, DC. He worked in Building Mangement services and Columbus Public school system. He also worked at Ohio State University for over 10 years, this spurred his interest in football. He was an avid fan of the scarlet and grey, which he wore with pride! He was an avid bowler for many years, he loved playing the lotto.
The legacy he leaves behind include his wife Debra for over 52 years; children, Terri Smoot of Greenville, SC, Regina Smoot of Columbus, OH, Stephanie Honore of Margsville, OH, Junius "Mann" Honore IV of Columbus, OH and Tyler Honore of Dallas, TX; future daughter-in-law, Diamond Jackson of Dallas, TX; grandchildren, Keveante Smoot of Columbus, OH, Ryan Smoot of Greenville, SC, Raveyna Manns of Columbus, OH, Nakia Young of Marysville, OH, J'Shawn Honore of Columbus, OH and Jacee Honoree of Columbus, OH; three great grandchildren; 15 nieces and nephews; dozens of great nieces and nephews and a host of other family and friends.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his son Junius Honore III, and two brothers, Wendell Sandridge and Christopher Sandridge.
A service in memory will be Saturday, July 22, 2023, 2:00 PM at the Greenville Yoga Serenity Gardens 3221 Old Buncombe Rd, Greenville, SC 29609. The family will have a visitation hour beginning at 1:00PM.
