Wellford, South Carolina

Mrs. Johnnie Bell Lipscomb, wife of Dewey Lipscomb, daughter of the late George Edwards and Daisy Mae T. Rice, passed Wednesday, March 26, 2025.

She was a member of New Trinity Baptist Church.  As a member, she served on the inspiration choir, Young Womans Auxiliary (YWA) and she was a floral bouquet maker.  In her spare time, she enjoyed hair braiding, puzzles, bingo, arts and crafts and baseball games.

Left to cherish fond and loving memories including her husband Dewey of over 42 years, are her daughters, Latrice N. Rice of Wellford, SC and LaTonya Y. Kelly of El Paso, TX; bonus daughter, Quriston J. Irby of Moore, SC; her siblings, Linda Gentry of Spartanburg, SC; Wilma (Steven) Mock of Forest City, NC, Patricia (Victor) Stevenson of Boiling Springs, SC, Brenda (Sherman) Rice of Inman, SC, Walter (Linda) Rice of Boiling Springs, SC and George E. (Patricia) Rice, Jr., of Moore, SC; four grandchildren, SSGT De'Quon L. Wingo of Havelock, NC (United States Marines), SSG De'Andre L. Wingo of Fayetteville, NC (United States Army), Da'Naysia U. Rice of Wellford, SC and Ezekiel J. Kelly of El Paso, TX; bonus mom, Ms. Mattie Jones of Lyman, SC; along with a host of other family and friends.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandson, Da'Vorius C. "Chi-Chi" Gray.

Bell will be missed by her family, church family and community.

Memorial service will take place on Tuesday, April 1,2025, 1:00pm at New Trinity Baptist Church.
