Joella Marie B. Harris, widow of Clarence Harris, daughter of the late Wilson and Inez Jenkins Burton, passed Monday, January 11, 2021 peacefully at her home surrounded by her family.
She was a faithful and dedicated member of Reedy Fork Baptist Church in Simpsonville, SC. In her spare time, she enjoyed cooking soul food, traveling and her specialty was entertaining others.
As part of her legacy, she leaves behind her children Diane Sullivan, Vernita (Shedrick) Harris Gill, Sherry (Michael) Davis, Johnny Pinson all of Simpsonville, SC; Dwight (Georgina) Pinson of Sugarhill, GA and Martha Irby of Fountain Inn, SC; her brothers, Donnie (Mamie) Burton and Deacon Rodger (Carrie) Burton both of Simpsonville, SC; 13 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.
On Monday, January 11, 2021, she broke the link of her earthly chain, to reconnect with those who passed before her. Those include her son Jerry Burton; siblings, Evelyn Moragne, Shirley B. Neely, Margaret Boyd, Wilson Jr. Burton, William D. Burton, Grady H. Burton and Samuel Burton. She was also preceded by her dog children Kaison and Champ.
Celebration of a life well lived will take place on Saturday, January 16, 2021 11:00PM (Family Only) at Reedy Fork Baptist Church in Simpsonville, SC; viewing will take place prior to the service for all friends from 10:00 AM until 10:45 AM. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The service will be live streamed via RFBC (Reedy Fork Baptist Church) App and Facebook Live.
In the days following the service for Mrs. Harris, for those who are unable to attend or recieve a program, a copy of her funeral program will be place here online for you to view.
