Our beloved sister, aunt, and friend, Janice Faye Johnson of Duncan, SC passed away on Monday, July 29, 2024, at Spartanburg Regional  Hospital. Janice was born on June 5, 1958, to the late Roosevelt Sr. & Clara Wright Johnson in Greer, SC. Janice was a 1976 graduate of James F. Byrnes High School in Duncan, SC; after high school, she received her Associates Degree from North Greenville University and her Bachelor's Degree in Social Work from Coker College. Janice retired from the Spartanburg Department of Social Services after many years of exemplary service. Everyone that knew Janice knew that she loved to laugh and how much she enjoyed being around her family and friends. She was also an exceptional bowler, and enjoyed reading, and crocheting.

Janice leaves behind to cherish fond memories, five sisters: Rachel Miller of Wellford, SC, Ruth Gold of Columbia, SC, Queen Bowens (Henry) of Mt. Pleasant, SC, Betty Johnson of Spartanburg, SC, Wanda Johnson of Lyman, SC; one brother: Rufus Johnson of Greer, SC, and one nephew reared in the home as a brother: Bernard Cheeks (Brenda) of Wellford, SC.  She also leaves behind to cherish fond memories, two godchildren: Eboni Nelson of Connecticut and Jarrett Cohen of New Orleans; along with a host of other family and friends.

Janice was preceded in death by twelve brothers and sisters: RosaLee Cheeks, Howard Johnson, Doris Johnson, Eliza Brown, Agnus Kennedy, Roosevelt Johnson, Jr, Reiner Granger, Clarence Johnson, Elizabeth Johnson, Leonard Johnson, Ruby Helen Johnson, and Stanard Johnson.

The homegoing services will be held Sunday, August 4, 2024, at 2:00p.m. at Lower Shady Grove Baptist Church: 1552 Switzer Greenpond Rd., Woodruff, SC. Burial will be in the church cemetery.  A public viewing will be held Saturday, August 3, 2024, at Sullivan Bros Mortuary, Greer, SC from 1:00 PM until 5:00 PM.

The family is receiving friends at the home-house at 63 Roosevelt Johnson Farm Rd., Lyman, SC.
