Woodruff, South Carolina

Mr. James L. Dallison, a devoted father, grandfather, son, brother and friend, passed Friday, July 25, 2025, peacefully at his home, surrounded by his loving family.  He was the son of the late Houston Dallison and the late Arsenia Todd.

James as a devoted truck driver for over 40 years, exemplifying unwavering dedication.  He also drove buses for over 15 years ensuring riders arrived at their destination safely and inspiring trust.  He became an umpire in 1994.

Left to cherish fond and loving memories include Carolyn Poole of Woodruff, SC; his children, Sylvia Dallison of Gastonia, NC, Doreen (Floyd) Dallison of Gastonia, NC; Paula Poole of Woodruff, SC and Sabrina Gathers of West Chester, NY; sons, James Dallison of Manhattan, NY, Jamark (Brittany) Poole of Duncan, SC, Shamon (Drema) Poole of Savannah, GA and Kenny James of Manhattan, NY; 38 grandchildren, 52 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; siblings, Leroy (Ann) Harrison, Jr., of Greenville, SC, Lewis (Patricia) Dallison of Columbia, SC and Ruby McKenzie of Greenville, SC; along with a host of other family and friends.

Along with his mother and father, James was preceded in death by his brother, Houston Dallison, Jr., sister, Lillie Ann Dallison-Caldwell; son, Jamie Teasley; daughter, Karen James and grandson Donovan Dallison.

Funeral service will be on Thursday, July 31, 2025, 1:00 PM at First Baptist Church of Woodruff with burial to follow in Cedar Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.  Public viewing will take place on Wednesday, July 30, 2025, from 3:00 PM until 6:00 PM at Sullivan Bros. Mortuary.
