Gloria Jean Sexton born on November 20th in 1955 to the late Nellie Mae Sexton and David O.B. Sexton, Gloria Jean Sexton came into the world a blessed gift from God.

Weighted with the burdens of cerebral palsy, Gloria was unable to experience standardized schooling, a loving marriage, or gainful employment. Yet, she knew very well the values of love, respect, and the importance of a strong family unit. The obstacle's Miss Gloria faced with her speech & immobility never kept her from life and most of all children. She always showed that love thru room lighting smiles & long hugs of reassurance. Even offering up the occasional disapproving fist shake with a stern 'cussing' when she needed to get her point across to ALL those nieces, nephews, & greats alike. Her zest for happiness in life earned her the name aunt "Jeanie" and she wore it well.

Gloria was honored to have 9 siblings, Freddie Sexton, Clarence D. Sexton, Conway Sexton, Pamela Hunt and Carol Hunter. All of whom were grateful to have shared a lifetime worth of memories with her. Four of her siblings whom God called home prior in order to prepare a path of peace for Gloria were Dianne Kelch, Paul G. Sexton, Norma Pickens, and Linda Hawkins.

So be ye not sorrowful or grievous for our sister Gloria Jean Sexton, for The Holy Spirit ordered her home on Saturday, May 1, 2021. He left for her legacy an abundance of family, friends, and neighbor's thereof to forever cherish and enjoy their laugh filled memories of this Thankful woman.

May you find comfort in her Peaceful rest now and carry her beauty in your hearts forevermore..
