Mrs. Gladys Mae Jants, formerly of Duncan, South Carolina, daughter of the late Sanders Thompson and the late Illar Mae Ballenger, passed Tuesday, February 28, 2023.

She was a member of Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church in Wellford, SC. She was a retired daycare teacher from The ABC Nursery.

Having departed this life, she leaves to cherish her precious memories, her daughter, Donna (Nick) Chambers, Spartanburg, SC; two sons, Douglas (Nailah) Jant, Jr., Greer, SC and Steven Jant, Duncan, SC; three sisters, Dorothy Ballenger, Duncan, SC, Andrenia King and Martha (Bobby) Talley both of Wellford, SC; a brothers, Kahnza Hodges, Grand Rapids, Michigan; four grandchildren, Toraze Jant, Bryant Wilkins, Dikim Rice, and Jamia Jant; nine great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Marian Irene Jant; a son, Marty Eric Jant and a brother, Lonnie Anderson.

Funeral service will be Sunday, March 5, 2023, 1:00 PM at Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery.  Viewing will take place on Saturday, March 4, 2023, from 12:00 Noon until 5:00 PM at Sullivan Bros. Mortuary.
