Greer, SC

Mrs. Gladys Loretta Horton,71, born in Spartanburg County to the late William Alexander Wooden and the late Geneva Wyatt Wooden. Loretta entered eternal rest on Sunday, May 31, 2020. She was the widow of Mr. Bronston Horton.

Sis Horton was a member of Bethesda Temple where she served as a Sunday School Teacher for many years and the assistant Secretary of the Missionary Ministry.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Linda G. Wooden; a son, Charles N. Wooden; a sister, Elizabeth Whiteside; a brother, Willie L. Wooden.

Loretta leaves to cherish her precious memories three sisters, Peggy Davis and Betty Jo Sibley both of Greer, SC, Laura J. Sherman of Greenville, SC; a brother, William A. (Carolyn) Wooden Jr. of Greer, SC; four grandchildren who reared in the home, Ashley (Raytarius) Nance, Ciera Young, Yaniti McClintock and Xavier Wright; three additional grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild and a host of other relatives and friends.
