Duncan, SC
Mrs. Geneva S. Fowler, 81, devoted wife of the late Eddie Fowler, answered the Lord's call on Saturday morning July 24th, surrounded by her family at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home.
She was born on November 19, 1939 to the late Willie and Rose Skipper. She was raised in Horatio, SC. She moved to New York City at a very young age, there she met her husband Eddie; the two married and decided to rear their family on Long Island, NY, after moving from Brooklyn, NY. Geneva was a life long home maker.
It was on Long Island, NY, where Bill (Cherie) Fowler, Scottie (Sonya) Fowler and Michelle (Anthony) Smith was raised. But, later in years the entire family moved to South Carolina. Here is where she enjoyed life the most!
She was a member of Greater Hopewell Baptist Church in Startex, SC. She was a true believer of Christ and love the Lord. She truly loved her family, it wasn't anything to much or to great that she wouldn't do for those eight grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, two sister-in-laws Hazel Fowler of Duncan, SC and Hattie Mae Tarpley of Rio Rancho, NM; nieces, nephews or other family and friends. She embraced every minute she could spend with them. They loved her and appreciated her endless love for them. The sun shined on each one of them. She couldn't wait for the next family gathering to see just how much she had been blessed.
She was preceded in death by her daughters, Junerous Weston, Vanessa Percell, Rubye Moore, son Jimmy Fowler, grand son Billy Jr. (B.J), siblings, Frank Skipper, Joe Skipper, Henry Skipper, Junior Skipper, Rosa Lee Green and Janie Ritchbow.
