Spartanburg, SC
On Saturday, January 21, the Lord called home a virguous woman, Ella Mae McMahand. She was born on August 23, 1933 in Spartanburg County, South Carolina to the late Mack Anderson and the late Christine Ware Anderson.
Mrs. McMahand was a member of Mayfield Chapel Baptist church in Duncan, South Carolina where she served on the usher board and as the treasure for her Sunday School class for many years. She also enjoyed baking.
Left to cherish fond and loving memories are her six daughters Martha Ann Bates of Duncan, SC, Bobbie Jean Williams and Barbara Williams both of Greer, SC, Mary E. Anderson of Pasadena, CA, Christine Marie Bruton and Clara Lee Bruton both of Spartanburg, SC; son Melvin Bruton of Spartanburg, SC; four brothers Waymond (Teretha) Anderson and Grover (Crystal) Anderson both of Greenville, SC; W. C. (Frances) Anderson of Taylors, SC, Curtis Anderson of Spartanburg, SC; seven step daughters Marilyn Prince of Greer, SC, Patricia Burnette of Atlanta, GA, Rev. Joyce Cheles of Sumter, SC, Victoria Williams, Mary Ladson of Greenville, SC, Elaine Smith, Stephanie Dawkins both of Simpsonville, SC; seven step sons Rufus McMahand of Simpsonville, SC, Donald Gallman of German, Reginald Gallman, Robert Wright, Stephen McMahand, Danny McMahand and Issac Gallman all of Greenville, SC; five grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; six great-great grandchildren along with a host of other family and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Haskel McMahand; son Willie Lord Bruton; sister Maggie Evans and three brothers Willie James Anderson, Charles Anderson and Odell Anderson.
Funeral service will be Wednesday, January 25, 2017 2:00 PM at Mayfield Chapel Baptist Church burial in the church cemetery.
