Obituary

Greer, South Carolina

We come today, with grateful hearts to give thanks for the life journey of Dorothy "Dot" Glenn, a woman of faith, fervor, and fellowship.

Born on July 17th, 1960, Dorothy Glenn was a remarkable woman whose presence lit up the lives of those around her. She was a loving mother, daughter, sister, aunt, grandmother, and friend who touched countless lives with her unwavering compassion and gentle spirit- an attribute she shared in common with her father, the late Horace Glenn Sr.

Throughout her life, Dorothy embraced every opportunity to spread joy and happiness.  Her infectious laughter and bright smile were a testament to her joyful nature. She had an exceptional ability to uplift the spirits of those in her presence, bringing light to even the darkest of days. Her caring and nurturing soul created a haven of love and support for her family and friends.

Dorothy was a true pillar of strength and wisdom. She devoted herself wholeheartedly to her family, providing steadfast love, support, and guidance. Her home was a sanctuary filled with love, where cherished memories were created and treasured.

In addition to her role as a loving mother, Dorothy was passionate about the youth and helping others in need. Dorothy Glenn attended and graduated from Blue Ridge High School and earned a Bachelor's Degree in Education from Central (Southern) Wesleyan University in Central, SC. She was known for her integrity, reliability, and willingness to go above and beyond to help anyone who needed it. Her dedication and commitment to various jobs in the helping field made a positive impact in her community.

Her memory will be cherished always by her mother, Betty Jo Glenn; her three children: Kevin Glenn, Daphnie Glenn, and Mercedes Glenn; 2 grandsons: Triston Tobin and Taylor Glenn, who will continue to carry her spirit in their hearts.

The circle of mourners also includes 6 siblings: Johnny (Diane) Greer, Norma Jean Foster, Catalina Glenn, Verdale Greer, Horace (Subrena) Glenn Jr., and Doris Glenn; other close relatives and lifelong friends.

Although our sorrow is immeasurable, we find solace in knowing that on Wednesday, June 7th, 2023, she found peace as she transitioned to the care and keeping of a loving and merciful God. May her beautiful soul rest in eternal peace, knowing that she leaves behind a profound legacy of love and unity that will forever be cherished by her loved ones.
