Greer, SC-- Donald Douglas Bruton, affectionately known to his family and friends as "Duck" entered into eternal rest on Friday, May 17, 2019. He was born October 14, 1951 in Spartanburg County to the late Howard Broadus and the late Irene Glenn Bruton. He was reared in the home of the late James Preston "Jab" Bruton and the late Irene Glenn Bruton along with his eleven loving brothers and sisters.

He was education in Greenville County Public School System and attended Lincoln High School. He was employed with Victor Mills for many years before joining and retiring from Underwood Septic Tank Service. His co-workers described him as someone with a strong work ethic who loved to crack jokes.

At an early age Duck affiliated himself with the Piney Grove Missionary Baptist Church.

Duck was a loving father, grandfather, brother, and uncle.  He was kind hearted, generous and always had a smile.
Duck loved life and enjoyed spending time with his family and kept them entertained with his quick wit humor and famous dance moves.  He was free spirited and enjoyed living life to the fullest. He never met a stranger and left a lasting impression on those he met. Whether you worked with Duck or socialized with him, you found someone who cared about people more than he cared about himself.  It was common to find Duck helping those who found themselves in difficult times of their life.  He loved working in the yard and caring for his dogs.

Memories of Duck's abundant life will be cherished by his children: Karen Kelley-Foster (Marvin) of Hopkins, SC and Donald Douglas Kelley of Wellford, SC: two sisters, Enell Bruton of Greer and Kathy Bruton of Inman; five grandchildren, Dominick Kelley, India Fuller (Hakeem), Jordan Kelley, Kenny Kelley and Mikayla Foster; nieces and nephews; special friends, cousins, and other relatives, and friends. Thank you to everyone for your love and support during this time.

Duck was preceded in death by his parents, Howard Broadus, James Preston "Jab" Bruton, and Irene Glenn Bruton, one son, Kenneth "Fred" Kelley, brothers, Jimmy Bruton, L.D. Johnson, Timothy Bruton, Randy Bruton, and Jacob Junior Bruton, and sisters, Vickey Bruton and Annie Pearl Dodd.

Memorial service will be Saturday, June 1, 2019 12:00 Noon at Piney Grove Missionary Baptist Church with private burial.
