Devarte Anterrio Watson was born on August 23, 1994, son of Scott and Shuarica Watson. He departed this life on Tuesday, August 20, 2024. Devarte' was "affectionately known as Pooh Bear, Pooh, T'e, Pooh to the Bear and Bear. He loved playing basketball, and spending time with his family and friends.

Devarte' graduated from Oakbrook Preparatory School in Spartanburg, SC in 2013 and received a basketball scholarship from Cape Fear Community College in Wilmington, NC and graduated with a communications degree.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Jarvis Pickering; great grandparents, Ruben and Doshia Sherman, Amogene Smith and JoAnn McDaniel.

Left to cherish fond and loving memories are his son, Zayden Watson, Charlotte, NC; parents, Shuarica and Scott Watson, Sr.; brothers, Scott L. Watson, Jr. and Zy'Cario Watson; sister, Scotasia Watson; maternal grandparents, Cheryl Elaine "Big Ma" Sherman, Michael (Judy) Durham; paternal grandparents, Betty Watson, and Paul (Jeanette) Watson, Sr. and other relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, August 28, 2024, 11:00 AM at St. Mark United Methodist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Viewing will be held at the church on Wednesday, August 28, starting at 10:00AM prior to service.
