Curtis "Eddie" Edward Evans, Jr. made his transition from his earthly life to God's eternal home on Thursday, September 17, 2026.

A native of Spartanburg County, Eddie was born on July 6, 1959, to the late Curtis Edward Evans, Sr., and Epsylean Mims Evans.

A 1978 graduate of James F. Byrnes High School, Eddie was known amongst his classmates and many friends for his lively and fun personality. He retired from Venture Measurement Company and was best known for owning his business, Evans Lawn Care, for several decades.  Eddie worked for Lyman United Methodist Church for over 16 years.

To know Eddie was to love him. He never met a stranger, and he was always willing to help someone if they were in need. His jokes were the center of family gatherings, and he had a way of captivating an audience that made you feel connected to all who knew him.  Those who knew Eddie, knew his love for his cowboy boots!

Eddie leaves behind his loving wife, Frankie Henderson Evans; his mother, Epsylean Mims Evans; children, Kisha Black (Winifred Black), Brad Channing Evans, and Courtney Demond Scott; a grandchild, Legend James Scott; sisters, Marilyn (Dennis) Evans Walker and Sharon Kaye Hardy; nieces, Miya and Maura Walker; aunts, Elnita (Ben) Mims Smith and Bobbie Jean Mims; a host of beloved cousins, Ray (Druscilla) Mims, Tracy (Terry) Evans Harris, William (Janice) Prescott, Jr., Angella (Gerald) Littlejohn, Adrian (Crystal) Mims, Marie Ann Cohen, and Dorethea (Richard) Evans Henry; stepson, James Henderson; mother-in-law, Johnnie Mae Brewton, and a wide circle of cherished friends.

Funeral service will be Friday, September 25, 2026, 1:00 PM at Lyman Methodist Church and burial to follow in New Faith Baptist Church Cemetery. Public viewing will take place on Thursday, September 24,2026 from 2:00pm until 6:00pm at Sullivan Bros Mortuary.
