Wellford

Mr. Colie Cohen Jr., husband of Mamie Jay Cohen, son of the late Colie and Josephine Cohen passed on Wednesday, January 2, 2019.

He was a member of the Greater Hopewell Baptist Church, served on the Deacon Board, taught Sunday School and joined the Silver Lake Masonic Lodge #388 in 1961 for a total of 57 years. During his spare time, he enjoyed working in the yard and reading the Bible and studying Sunday School Lesson. Additionally, he and Mamie Cohen always traveled and did things together.

Left to cherish fond and loving memories along with his wife Mamie Jay of over 61 years are his sons Steve (Kamaka) Cohen of Inman, SC, Colie Junior Cohen of Greenville, SC and daughter Teresa (Sidney) Ferguson of Spartanburg, SC; grandchildren Steven L Cohen in the Military, Caleb E Cohen of Spartanburg, SC, Arielle Ferguson of Spartanburg, SC, Bryson Lloyd of Mauldin, SC, Lindsay Foster of Wellford, SC, Kendra and Danielle Ferguson of Cary, NC. He has six great-grandchildren. Siblings are Calvin (Rachel) Cohen of Moore, SC, Bessie Mae (Wilbert)Taylor of Greenville, SC; along with a host of other family and friends.

Along with his parents he was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Alicia Cohen two sisters Dorothy A. Smith and Marie McFadden.
