Charles Morton Sr. was born on July 2, 1947 in Spartanburg South Carolina; to the late  Louise Reid - Morton & Joseph Morton Jr.

His mother passed away when he was 4 years old. He was raised by his Grandparents the late Queenie Benson - Morton & Joseph Morton Sr. and Dorothy T. Morton.

He attended Spartanburg County school .

The Joseph Morton Sr. family relocated to Glen Cove, New York in 1961. Later Charles met and married Patricia A. Jones-Morton in 1968 and had his first child, Tammay Terrelle Morton.  They later separated.  He met Ms. Betsy Booker and had his first son Charles Morton Jr.  He later had another son Andre Morton with Julia Childs.

In 2002, he retired from Grumman Air Industries Machining Corporation after 37 years of service and moved back to Spartanburg, South Carolina. That's where he met & married Ms. Belle Morton.

He also worked at Van Dorn DeMag for 6 years and Byrnes High School, Centre of the Arts for 9 years; until his battle with liver cancer took a toll on his body.

He was a devoted father of one daughter Tammay Terrelle Morton, two sons Charles Morton Jr., Andra Morton and four grandchildren

Anthony Terrelle Jones, Lori Patryce Boyd, Diamond Morton and Denise Morton.

Charles Sr. leaves to Cherish his memory his daughter Tammay (Tammy), Sons Charles Jr. & Andre; his grandchildren, Anthony Terrelle Jones, Lori Patryce Boyd, Diamond Morton, Denise Morton, his Aunt Tina Morton, Uncle Lewis Morton & Brother Steven Morton, many cousins, nephews .nieces and his Loving friend Queen Williams who was there by his side during his battle with cancer until his was called home.

He enjoyed working, cooking, gardening and fishing.

Service for Mr. Morton, Sr., will take place on Monday, January 4, 2021 12:00PM at Sullivan Bros. Mortuary Chapel.  Due to CDC/WHO and state and local level organizations, we have a seating capacity we must abide by.  Family will be seated first and limited seating if available after that.  If you have access to Zoom, we will place the information for the service here under this listing for you to view the service live while it is taking place.  If you are able to attend the service, a face covering is required during the entire time while inside the mortuary.  If you feel that you have been exposed or been around someone that may have been exposed to Covid-19; or feel under the weather, please feel free to email us a condolence at sullivanbrosmortuary@gmail.com so we can provide to the family.
