Obituary

Taylors, South Carolina

Catherine Ann Greer transitioned peacefully at her home on Monday, March 9, 2026, in Greenville County, South Carolina. Her passing leaves a legacy of love, faith, devotion, and most importantly, wisdom that will be cherished by all who knew her.

Catherine was born to the late Eddie McBee, Sr. and Catherine Singleton McBee. in Greenville County, South Carolina. She was the fourth of five children and grew up surrounded by the love, strength, and values of a close-knit family. From an early age, Catherine demonstrated a warm spirit, a caring heart, and a deep appreciation for family and community. Throughout her life, she was known for her kindness, grace, and unwavering dedication to those she loved.

Her compassion was evident in her many years of service at Shriners Hospital, where she cared for some of the most vulnerable children. Serving others brought her great fulfillment, and she approached her work with patience, kindness, and a genuine love for those around her. Outside of work, Catherine enjoyed life's simple pleasures. She loved a good card game, spending time bowling, thrifting for special finds, and the bright neon lights of a casino whenever she had the chance to visit. She carried herself with quiet strength and touched the lives of many—from those she loved dearly to those who were complete strangers. Catherine was a strong advocate for peace, unconditional love, forgiveness, and—most importantly—the importance of family-bond.

Catherine was preceded in death by her parents, Eddie McBee, Jr. and Catherine Singleton McBee; her beloved husband of sixty-seven years, Roger Greer; and her son, Richard Eugene Greer. She was also preceded in death by her brothers,Willie McBee and Eddie McBee and a sister,, Rozelle Collins.

She leaves to cherish her memory her children: Charrisse (Winford) Moss, William (Sytrena) Greer, Eddie (Michelle) Greer, LaMont (Benita) Greer, Shirl (Bennie) Killingsworth, Emily Towyanna (Rev. W.O.) Harrison, Jr, Reverend Michael (Vickie) Greer, Tammy Greer McClain, and Timothy (Nezarene) Greer. She also leaves her sister, Barbara Winston, and sister-in-law, Karen Greer, as well as a host of beloved grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other extended family members who will forever treasure her love and legacy.

Catherine's life was a reflection of love, resilience, faith, and wisdom. Her legacy will continue to live on in the memories shared by family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. She will be deeply missed but forever remembered for the joy, laughter, and unconditional love she brought into the lives of others.
