Brenda Ann Murray Bowens was born to the late Mr. Esley Murray and Mrs. Rosalee Sherman Murray on May 27, 1952, in Greenville County, SC.

She was the wife of Jimmy Bowens for 42 years and departed this life on Monday, February 15th, 2021. She attended Lincoln High School Systems. Brenda was a Custodian with Greenville County School District.

At an early age she joined New Salem Baptist Church in Tigerville, SC where she was a member of the choir. She loved singing in different  churches.

Having departed this life she leaves to cherish her precious memories her husband; a daughter, Hollie Bowens of Travelers Rest, SC; a son, Ryan Bowens of the home; a sister, Gail Howard of Travelers Rest, SC; two brothers, Rev. Tommy (Beatrice) Murray and Daniel (Rev. Diane) Murray both of Greenville, SC; and 5 grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her three sisters, Tessola Williams, Katherine Smith, and Elizabeth Williams; four brothers, Rev. Joe Murray, Hugh Murray, Thurman Murray and Truman Murray.
