Bishop Leepolian Turner transitioned to his Heavenly home on July 22, 2020 at Prisma - North Greenville. He was 61 years old. The son of the late Leroy Green and late Flora Mae Smith. Married to Prophetess Virginia Turner for 39 years. Became a born again Christian at 17 years old at Bethesda Temple Holiness P.A.W. Church under Elder William Brian in Greer, S.C.
Bishop Turner dropped out of school at an early age to work. He met his wife to be at Bethesda Temple. She was an inspiration to him to go back to school an get his GED. He started back at Greenville Tech and became a 4.0 student. After getting married to Prophetess Turner he enlisted in the United States Army an was station in Kaiserslautern, Germany. He was the founder and Pastor First Church of Worldwide Gospel Ministry in Kaiserslautern, Germany then later added locations in Italy, Texas, South Carolina and North Carolina. While serving there he began to take college courses and earned several degrees
Harold Washington College in Chicago, IL, Associate Degree in Art and Liberal Arts
Troy University Alabama, Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration
University of Phoenix Master Degree in Business Administration
Interfaith University in Tuskegee, Alabama Honorary Doctorate of Divinity
also served on the Board of Advisors and taught high school in Greenville County School System
He was a Lay Chaplain in Seoul Korea and Iraq then he retired after twenty-one years active duty in the United States Army. Bishop Turner loved helping people in the community. Bishop Turner legacy in the Gospel will always be remember by his works for God. A well studied preacher and teacher. He mentored pastors, teachers, ministers and saints of God internationally and local for 30 years or more. He and his wife were an anointed and powerful team for the Lord. They lived the life they preached.
His memories will always be remember by his loving wife; a daughter, Mary Sitton of Greer, SC; two grandsons, Darius (D. J.) Sitton and Javius (J. J.) Sitton both of Greer, SC ; five sisters, Magdalene Byrd , Simpsonville, SC, Delitha Goodlett, Greer, SC, Phyllis Green, Greer, SC, Cynthia Green, Greer, SC, and Jacqueline Smith, Greenville, SC; four brothers, Jimmy Green, Greer, SC, Kenneth Smith, Greenville, SC, Roy Smith, Greenville, SC and Freddie Smith, Greenville, SC; and and a host of other relatives and friends.
His love for God and his relationship with God allows us to have Peace in knowing that he is now in the arms of God.
