On August 19, 2022, God handpicked a beautiful flower Bernice Montgomery from his flower garden here on Earth to take to Heaven because he needed a special flower in heaven.  (We Love & Miss You).

Bernice Montgomery was born on February 4, 1955, in Spartanburg, South Carolina.  Bernice was a devoted wife of Deacon Charles Montgomery for over forty-eight years.  She was the daughter of the late Mose English, Jr. and Ellen Arnold English.  She was proceeded in death by her brother Benjamin English of Spartanburg, SC.

Bernice was a graduate from Spartanburg High School in 1973 and graduated from Spartanburg Technical College in 1975 with a degree in Office Management.

Bernice joined Piney Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Nineteen Seventy-Six and she served faithfully as a Deaconess, other ministries including Sunday School Teacher, Missionary Society, Christian Education Committee and Mass Choir, Hawkin's Mix Choir, Vocal Choir and Gospel Choir.  She retired from BMW Manufacturing after many years of employment.

Left to cherish fond and loving memories are her husband, Deacon Charles Montgomery; son, Reverend Anthony (Julia) Montgomery of Easley, SC; daughter, Tasha Montgomery-Manning of Inman, SC; seven grandchildren, Warren T. Manning, II and Natasha O. Manning of Inman, SC, Amaya J. Hill-Montgomery, Cameron T. Montgomery, Arion B. Montgomery, Sidney T. Montgomery and Jensen A. Montgomery all of Easley, SC; sister, Wanda Brown of Spartanburg, SC; brother, Theodore (Lynn) English of Spartanburg, SC, Theo (Carol) English of Greenville, SC; sisters-in-laws, Martha Montgomery of Lyman, SC, Mary (James) Petty of Lyman, SC and the late Annie P. Warren of Lyman, SC; brothers-in-laws, Robert (Alfreda) Montgomery of Lyman, SC, Daniel (Carolyn) Montgomery of Spartanburg, SC, Marvin (Brenda) Montgomery of Greer, SC and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins other family and friends.

Funeral service will be Sunday, August 28, 2022, 2:30 PM at Piney Grove Missionary Baptist Church.  She was be placed in the church one hour prior to service.  Window viewing will take place on Saturday, August 27, 2022, 1:00 PM until 5:00 PM at Sullivan Bros. Mortuary Inc.
